Another former top business leader in China has been expelled from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as part of an ongoing crackdown on the country’s financial sector. Tang Shuangning, the ex-chairman and party chief of the China Everbright Group, was expelled for “serious violations of disciplines and laws,” according to a statement from the CCP’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission. Tang was found to have abandoned his duties, failed to address financial risks, taken bribes, accepted gifts and property, and introduced books with political issues into China. Tang’s alleged crimes will now be reviewed by prosecutors.
